Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered into a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates it. That company processes the query and supplies the response. We do not keep or log those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When you email us, we retain the message as needed to answer it. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers receive basic technical information when a page loads:
- Page-view timestamps and time spent on pages
- Your device's assigned IP address
- Browser name and version
- Device type and operating system
- Pages viewed during the visit
- The referring site, when one is reported
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. Along with analytics services, they help us see aggregate patterns such as popular pages and common exit points. You can block cookies through your browser, although doing so may change how parts of the site work.
What We Do With This Data
- Routing a search request to the selected partner
- Maintaining site speed and availability
- Finding and repairing technical faults
- Understanding which pages serve readers well
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. Franklin County content identifies how to request official material from the Sheriff's Office, Circuit Court Clerk, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, and Tennessee Sex Offender Registry. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party criminal histories. Tennessee's public-record and criminal-history rules, including the Tennessee Public Records Act at T.C.A. Title 10, Chapter 7, Part 5 and TBI authority at T.C.A. §38-6-120, govern official agencies rather than creating a record database here.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their privacy policies, retention periods, and disclosure practices apply to information entered there. We do not control those rules, so review the provider's policy before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Franklin County Sheriff's Office, Tennessee courts, TBI, legal resources, or outside search services. Once you leave this website, the destination's own policy governs the visit. Read it before providing personal details.
Some advertising providers use activity across websites to select ads. That tracking occurs within their systems.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:
- Analytics vendors measuring traffic and performance
- Search providers processing a query you submit
- Advertising networks serving content on the pages
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
We use customary security measures for the information collected. No internet service can guarantee perfect protection, so a breach can never be ruled out.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such data, we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Your place of residence and applicable Tennessee or federal privacy and consumer-protection law may provide added rights. These visitor-data rights are separate from public access under the Tennessee Public Records Act and criminal-history dissemination under T.C.A. §38-6-120. At a minimum, you may:
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Ask what personal data we retain about you
- Opt out of processing where applicable
- Ask for deletion of your personal data
